The Port of Dover will be able to cope with moderate disruption arising from Brexit and there is short sea capacity to absorb significant overflow in the event of capacity constraints, global shipping consultancy Drewry has found.
In an independent study conducted by the consultant, it found that Dover has the Border Control, check-in, embarkation area and berth capacity to cope with existing demand.
Tim Power, head of Drewry Maritime Advisors, said: “Handling half of all the freight traffic moved to and from EU, Dover is by far the UK’s largest roll-on roll-off (ro-ro) port.
