DP World’s global volumes up to 71m teu

DP World handled 71.4m teu across its global portfolio of container terminals in 2018, representing 2.9% like-for-like growth, despite a decline at its UAE-hub due to a reduction in low-margin cargo. Positive growth for Port of Barcelona

The Port of Barcelona handled over 3.4m teu in 2018, an increase of 15% year-on-year attributed to an increase in containers moved by rail and an increase in transhipment. APM Terminals (APMT) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sahathai Terminal PLC (PORT) and Mitr Phol Sugar to develop a 345,000 teu capacity greenfield container terminal in Bangkok. DP World port manager killed in Somalia’s Puntland state

A P&O Ports executive has been killed near Bossasso Port in Puntland, Somalia in an attack claimed by Islamist militant group Al Shabaab. Liebherr Container Cranes has delivered four ship-to-shore (STS) cranes to the USA, with two being sent to New Jersey while the other two were delivered to Pennsylvania.
