DP World has chosen global software company Infor to power its Global Supply Chain Platform Initiative, through which the terminal operator aims to deliver end-to-end logistics services and worldwide supply chain visibility.
Through the initiative, DP World aspires to bring supply chain stakeholders and processes together on a single global, intelligent network.
In order to power a new business initiative that will extend the value of its port and trade facilitation services to customers around the world, the terminal operator requires innovative logistics digitalisation capabilities.
Infor has said that its strategy to deliver network native, global supply chain digitalisation and innovation was a key factor in DP World’s decision to choose Infor’s GT Nexus Commerce Network.
At present, the GT Nexus Commerce Network provides a network for global trade management to over 65,000 businesses.
Jonathan Wood, Infor general manager for India, Middle East and Africa, said: “The global digital logistics market is expected to grow by almost 8% between now and 2023.
“As some of the busiest production centres in the world, the India, Middle East and Africa region is ideally placed to maximise this opportunity and DP World will position the Infor GT Nexus Commerce Network to help achieve its objective of a leading position in worldwide supply chain services.”
