COSCO signs low sulphur fuel oil supply agreement
COSCO Shipping Lines has signed a low-sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) supply agreement with Double Rich Limited with the aim to conform to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO)’s 2020 sulphur cap.
As part of the agreement, Double Rich will provide fuel oil with sulphur content not exceeding 0.5% m/m in order to comply with IMO’s regulations and to help COSCO realise “green shipping”.
By utilising LSFO, COSCO Shipping Lines will be better prepared to fulfil the amendment of IMO’s annex VI in the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL).
