Rise in container traffic for Stockholm

Container traffic at Ports of Stockholm is on the rise, with volumes 25% greater in the first quarter of 2019 than the same period in 2018.

To meet the demands of the rising throughput, the Stockholm Norvik Port is scheduled to open in May 2020 and will replace the current Container Terminal Frihamnen (CTF).

Nicklas Ebersson, cargo marketing manager at Ports of Stockholm, said: “The Stockholm region is growing, a fact that is clearly reflected by our import volumes.”
