Konecranes launches 11-tonne empty container handler

Konecranes has launched its first empty container handler with a double stack capacity of up to 11 tonnes, specifically designed for heavy-duty double handling application.

The SMV ECC 6/7 110 DS has been dubbed the “no limitations empty container handler” by the manufacturer as it makes full use of an 11-tonne telescopic side lift spreader for handling two empty containers simultaneously.

Patrik Lundbäck, director of sales and distribution at Konecranes Lift Trucks, said: “We’ve seen an increase in demand for empty container handlers with double handling and 11-tonne capacity, especially from countries that export a lot of fruit in reefer containers.
