DP World has unveiled its new system of stacking containers up to eleven high rather than the usual limit of five high in a ‘random access’ high bay storage (HBS) system, ensuring reshuffling of boxes does not take place.
The operator showcased its ‘Boxbay’ system, developed under a joint venture with industrial engineering firm SMS Group/AMOVA , at the TOC Europe conference in Rotterdam.
Each container is sat on its own platform and can be accessed on its own, without moving the containers on top of it around.
