The extension of the Quai de Flandres at the Port of Dunkerque has been inaugurated enabling the French hub to simultaneously berth two ultra large container ships (UCLS) of 400 m in length in all tidal conditions.
The quay length is now 1,785 m, of which nearly 1,000 m has been dredged to a depth of 17.3 m.
Berthing conditions at the terminal have also been improved by replacing all the marine fenders and reinforcing the mooring bollards.
