RAM Spreaders launches fully automated twistlock handling system
RAM Spreaders has launched a fully automated twistlock handling system, the PinSmart II, which aims to improve an otherwise dangerous, slow and expensive process for container terminals.
Container terminals remove and fit more than 2bn twistlocks from shipping containers per year, according to RAM Spreaders, and the PinSmart II aims to reduce the risk of injuries, cost and improve productivity.
The company’s new twistlock handling system takes as little as 10 seconds to remove or install any twistlock model and place or pick the twistlock from the storage racks which has a capacity to store up to 2,000 twistlocks.
