Ashdod Port is inviting start-ups to participate in a new project spearheaded by Israel’s Innovation Authority, aiming to help develop technologies and products for the port’s core fields.
As part of the project, the port will provide the winning companies with an experimental area with overseas potential.
In this area, personnel from start-ups can conduct technological development of products designated for essential activities at the port, such as unloading, storage, transport, control systems, etc.
Orna Hausman-Bechor, chairperson of Ashdod Port, stated: “Ashdod Port’s decision to take part in this project constitutes significant and vital progress in adapting the port’s infrastructure and systems to an era of competition between ports.”
Selected start-ups will receive financial support of 20-50% for various expenses related to research and development (R&D) of the products.
The companies that present a plan with potential for “exceptional streamlining” of the government company’s economic activity will receive support of 60% of the R&D expenses.
