The Port of Tangier has ordered 16 rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, which will be the first Konecranes container cranes in Morocco, for its new container terminal TC3 at Tanger Med 2.
The RTGs will have a lifting capacity of 40 tonnes, lifting containers 1-over-5 high and seven container rows wide plus truck lane. Additionally, they will be equipped with the auto-steering feature and auto-terminal operating system (TOS) reporting.
These two features will keep each crane driving straight on a pre-programmed path and will help to enable accurate yard inventory by reporting all container moves to the TOS.
