The Port of Sines has begun its expansion work, which will allow the facility to double containerised cargo capacity, with the consignment of the East Breakwater enlargement.
Representing a total investment of approximately €72m (US$78.5m), the enlargement of the breakwater was consigned to Condural – Engenharia SA.
The breakwater will be enlarged by 750 m in order to reinforce the protection of the east side of the Port of Sines, namely with regard to the next expansion phase of the Sines Container Terminal – Terminal XXI.
