Port of Tyne is first UK port to join Connected Ports Partnership

The Port of Tyne is the first UK port to join the Connected Ports Partnership, a global data and resource sharing initiative between global operators including the ports of Rotterdam, Gdansk, Helsinki, Hamburg and Los Angeles.

The initiative aims to transform the way ports operate through a shared logistics system, hoping to take major steps forward in the efficiency and cost reduction of world trade lanes and to reduce carbon emissions.

Matt Beeton, chief executive officer at the Port of Tyne, said: “We are excited to join this innovative, world-leading and collaborative initiative.
