The Port of Tyne is the first UK port to join the Connected Ports Partnership, a global data and resource sharing initiative between global operators including the ports of Rotterdam, Gdansk, Helsinki, Hamburg and Los Angeles.
The initiative aims to transform the way ports operate through a shared logistics system, hoping to take major steps forward in the efficiency and cost reduction of world trade lanes and to reduce carbon emissions.
