First RMG sale in Canada for Liebherr
Liebherr has sold its first rail-mounted gantry (RMG) in Canada as part of an order for Terminal Montreal Inc, which also included a ship-to-shore (STS) crane.
Termont Montreal, which opened in 2016, has quickly reached capacity and the new Liebherr equipment will help increase its handling capacity to 600,000 teu.
The RMG is able to stack containers 1-over-5 high, with a safe working load of 65 tonnes under a twinlift spreader, a span of 36.6 m, a lift height over rail of 18.5 m and a single cantilever of 17 m.
