Gaussin has announced the testing of the first electric vehicles in Qatar at Ras Bufontas Free Zone, which will go towards reducing carbon emissions at Hamad Port.
The manufacturer is rolling out the first batch of electric terminal tractors – the APM 75T – for QTerminals, which manages and operates the first phase of the country’s main container port.
The fully electric vehicles are capable of operating in hot weather, which is essential during the summer months in the Gulf region where temperatures can rise above 50°C.
