Port of Antwerp installs smart bollards with sensors

The Port of Antwerp has installed smart bollards with sensors, developed by Brussels technology company Zensor, in order to enhance safety at the quay walls.

The first five bollard monitors have been installed at the North Sea Terminal and five more a planned shortly.

Annick De Ridder, port alderman at Antwerp, said: “With this piece of innovation, we are not only making our port safer and more efficient, but we can also be a source of inspiration for other ports.”
