Ports America Chesapeake (PAC) has ordered 15 eco-efficient hybrid rubber-tyred gantries (RTG) from Konecranes to expand operations and reduce diesel emissions at the Port of Baltimore.
The new equipment will help to reduce the Seagirt Marine Terminal’s environmental impact and help to increase efficiencies by significantly increasing the current RTG container handling capacity.
Seagirt Marine Terminal has a handling volume of just over 1m teu and, due to a boost in e-commerce, has continued to break monthly container handling records.
