Lashing cages

South Asia Gateway Terminal (Pvt) Ltd (SAGT) has commissioned two Container Top Safety Work Cages (CTS-WC) to enhance the safety of its container lashing crew for operations on board.

The deployment of the cages, which were operationalised on March 15, is yet another first for the Port of Colombo as SAGT represents Sri Lanka’s first public private partnership (PPP) container terminal.

With the safety cages, lashing contractors are able to carry out on-board container lashing operations with significantly improved safe working conditions.
