Yantian congestion eases although nearby ports hit by delays

Yard density is down to 65% at the Port of Yantian, while overall productivity has increased to 85% of normal levels as operations at the hub continue to normalise.

However, according to a customer advisory from Maersk, there are now substantial waiting times for vessels calling Shekou, Nansha and Hong Kong, with carriers adjusting services to manage the bottlenecks.

As of July 2, Shekou has reached full yard utilisation, with delays of three and a half days for vessels visiting the port.
