The Port of Los Angeles saw container throughput increase 4% year-on-year in July, handling 890,800 teu, thanks to US consumer purchasing which began to build momentum last summer.
The surge in US consumer purchasing has resulted in 12 consecutive months of year-on-year growth at the port.
Port of Los Angeles executive director Gene Seroka said: “This remarkable, sustained import surge is pushing the supply chain to new levels.
