A.P. Moller-Maersk has opened its first Russian Inland Container Deport (ICD) 10 km away from Novorossiysk, the largest port on the Black Sea.
The new ICD operates two rail services which total 570 m and is equipped with fertilisers, liquid cargoes as well as general and palletised cargo handling facilities.
Zsolt Katona, head of Maersk Eastern Europe, said: “We’re excited about adding more Russian supply chain distribution capacity and expertise at a time when customers are looking for new wats to keep pace with consumer demand and to be more sustainable with their carbon emissions.
