ConexBird Oy is set to generate container insight for O.V. Lahtinen Oy (OVL) which will help keep the company’s fleet costs down.
OVL, which offers shippers, lessees and other stakeholders a variety of intermodal solutions through its portfolio of container sale, lease and transport services, sees this commercial relationship with ConexBird as the move toward the future of container logistics.
Osmo Lahtinen, CEO of OVL, said: “We can already see that ConexBird’s data will provide us with the visibility we need into the durability of our containers, and it will allow us to get the most out of our fleet – both by increasing revenue and reducing costs.
“We’ve already agreed on the content and format of what ConexBird will provide us with, and we’re looking forward to receiving our first data deliveries within the next few weeks.”
In addition to the repair cost forecasts and associated data points, ConexBird expects to be continuously generating new forms of insight and valye for OVL over the coming months.
Teuvo Heikkilä, CEO of ConexBird, said: “We are very pleased to be working with OVL to show the world what can be done with ConexBird’s solution.
“ConexBird’s mission is to make container logistics faster, smarter and greener, and together with OVL we are taking a big step in that direction.”
Founded to address the inadequate quantity and quality of container condition knowledge, and to help intermodal stakeholders improve the efficiency and sustainability of their supply chains, ConexBird is a specialist provider of data-driven insight, combining machine learning and cloud computing with its vibration-based container measurements.
