The Port of Marseille Fos enjoyed a 13% rise in container traffic last year, handling nearly 1.5m teu, as it recovered from a tough initial year of the pandemic.
Across all types of cargo, throughput increased by 9% bringing its overall volume to 75m tonnes of goods handled. This generated a revenue of €162m (US$m), representing, 11% growth.
Elisabeth Ayrault, chairwoman of the Port of Marseille Fos Supervisory Board, stated: “These results confirm the Port of Marseille Fos’s position as the southern Gateway to Europe to conquer its hinterland.
