The Port of LA breaks year-on-year record with 13% increase in container throughput

The Port of Los Angeles (LA) has broken its previous calendar year throughput record by 13%, handling about 10.7m teu during 2021.

When he announced the results Gene Seroka, Port of LA’s executive director, reiterated the importance of industry coming together to address the challenges of the global supply chain and highlighted the port’s engagement with stakeholders across the industry to find solutions.

Seroka said: “Decades of development provided the berth space, backland and rail infrastructure to process more cargo than ever before.
