Konecranes to deliver 17 automated rubber-tyred gantry cranes to Felixstowe

The Port of Felixstowe, operated by Hutchison Ports, has ordered 17 automated rubber-tyred gantry (ARTG) cranes from Konecranes to make its container throughput more efficient.

It is the first order of Konecranes ARTGs to be delivered to the United Kingdom and is, to date, the largest order of Konecranes ARTGs for a single terminal or project.

Darryn Scheepers, sales manager EMEA, port solutions, Konecranes, said: “Konecranes will integrate Felixstowe’s existing ARTGs with the Konecranes ARTGs in a harmonised automation platform.”
