Porto Itapoá’s container volumes have grown 13% year-on-year, handling 489,000 teu in 2021, thanks to the expansion of the terminal’s services and the global economic recovery.
Celebrating 10 years of operations in 2021, imports increased 23% compared to the previous year and transhipment cargo was up nearly 18% in the same period while exports and cabotage had a 7% and 5% increase, respectively.
Cássio José Schreiner, president of Porto Itapoá, said: “The logistics infrastructure has been a driving force for the economy which, even with the consequences of the pandemic, has contributed in a significant way by giving conditions for the resumption of Brazil’s economic power.
