European Commission conditionally approves the Cargotec and Konecranes merger

The European Commission has conditionally approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the proposed merger between Cargotec and Konecranes, conditional on the divestiture of certain businesses.

The decision follows an in-depth investigation into the proposed merger of the two companies which are the largest European and amongst the leading global manufacturers of container and cargo handling equipment.

The conditional offer is based on the divestment of Konecranes’ Lift Truck business and Cargotec’s Kalmar Automation Solutions.
