Export and transhipment of containers at the Port of Rotterdam have suffered from the uncertainty caused by the conflict in Ukraine and the related sanctions imposed by the European Union (EU) on Russia.
The extensive import of energy (crude oil, oil products, LNG and coal) has not yet been affected by sanctions.
Of the roughly 470m tonnes transhipped through the Port of Rotterdam, 62m tonnes are orientated towards Russia (13%).
