The Port of Melbourne has confirmed works at Webb Dock East to help reduce port congestion, improve efficiency and accommodate larger ships at Australia’s largest container and general cargo port.
As part of the project the port will demolish a redundant section of concrete and extend the quay line by 71 m, awarding the works contract to Fitzgerald Constructions Australia.
Scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2023, the project is a part of the Port of Melbourne’s 30-year investment strategy designed to create a more efficient and productive port that strengthens Victoria’s economy.
