An independent jury of experts has chosen two symbiosis projects, Indaver/Marlux-Stradus and Dockwater BV, following an open call to stimulate the circular economy in the Antwerp port area.
These projects, aimed at reducing residual waste and reusing water, will each start on a support project worth €50,000 (US$55,500) in the coming weeks.
Annick De Ridder, Port of Antwerp port alderman, said: “The Port of Antwerp aspires to be the ‘green port’ of the future. An essential part of this will involve the transition to work processes which rely more on renewable and circular raw materials.
