PSA Halifax has invested in two additional Super Post-Panamax ship-to-shore (STS) container cranes for its main berth, joining five existing Super Post-Panamax units.
Due for delivery in early 2023 to the Atlantic Hub terminal, located on Canada’s east coast, the STS cranes offer an enhanced outreach of 24-wide which is capable of spanning the largest vessels being deployed within the region.
Jan Van Mossevelde, CEO of PSA Halifax, said: “As the first port of call on North America’s east coast for ships transiting from the Atlantic from Europe and South Asia, PSA Halifax offers an uncongested gateway for importers in Canada and the US to connect directly with Chicago, Toronto, Detroit, Montreal, and Moncton using our on-dock rail facility.
