Yilport has commissioned a new feasibility study, conducted by Semcom, to investigate how transport flows in the Port of Gävle can be made more efficient through the use of autonomous vehicles.
As one of Sweden’s largest ports, huge quantities of goods are transported to and from the Gävle every day and autonomous vehicles will help to reduce costs as well as improve safety and quality.
David Darwall, global business manager of applied autonomy at Semcom, said: “The feasibility study will focus on a single process, but the vision is to build a fully autonomous logistics production solution for Yilport, which is very exciting.
