Hapag-Lloyd to become first carrier to equip entire container fleet with real-time tracking devices

Hapag-Lloyd has plans to equip its entire 3m teu container fleet with real-time tracking devices, following on from the successful introduction of real-time monitoring for its reefer container fleet in 2019.

The Internet of Things (IoT) product Hapag-Lloyd LIVE will become available for customers of its standard containers during 2023.

Maximilian Rothkopf, COO of Hapag-Lloyd, said: “Going forward, we will be able to provide our customers with real-time track and trace data, giving them full visibility of any container movement worldwide.
