Awake.AI launches platform utilising Intel technology

Awake.AI and Intel are launching a solution that uses machine-learning models to detect objects in the port yard using sensors installed in the port area and automatically provides real-time awareness of utilisation rates and cargo flows.

According to the partners, potential benefits from using the platform include a better use of existing capacity, reduced port area emissions, accurate real-time prediction of arrivals and departures, optimised port calls driven by AI and computer-vision insights, real-time information sharing, and time and cost savings.

For example, Lidar sensor data, often combined with other sources of data, can be used to optimise the arrival and departure of landside traffic.
