Konecranes to deliver 12 electric RTGs to terminal in Miami

South Florida Container Terminal (SFCT) has ordered 12 electric rubber-tyred gantry (E-RTG) cranes from Konecranes for its terminal in Miami, as it looks to raise capacity.

In response to recent growth, the facility, which provides access to Latin American and Asian trade routes, has been densifying and expanding its container yard upwards instead of out.

The operator is more than doubling capacity, converting its primary container handling equipment to RTGs to manage higher container stacks.
