The Israeli government has announced that Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has won the tender to privatise Haifa Port, in partnership with chemical specialist Gadot for 4.1bn shekels (US$1.18bn).
Through the winning bid, the Adani-Gadot consortium has secured the rights to buy 100% shares of Haifa Port Company Ltd via a conession that runs until 2054.
Indian operator Adani will have a majority 70% stake while Gadot will take the remaining 30% share.
