A joint venture between J M Baxi Ports and Logistics Ltd. and CMA Terminals has won the tender to operate Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal (JNPCT).
The pair, who will hold an equal share, offered a royalty price of Rs. 4,520 (US$60) per teu during the 30-year concession period, which will increase yearly in line with the rise on the basis of the wholesale price index (WPI).
The terminal’s annual capacity will increase from 1.5m teu to 1.8m teu, while throughput is expected to rise from 400,000 teu at present to 900,000 teu in the tenth year.
