Porto Itapoá has opened a new warehouse and launched a last-mile transport service in order to offer customers increased flexibility and efficiency as well as lower operating costs.
The new additions are part of an ongoing R$750m (US$145.8m) investment plan at the terminal which will see capacity increase from 1.2m teu to 2m teu once completed in 2023 and will also increase the yard from 250,000 sq m to 455,000 sq m.
Roberto Pandolfo, customer experience business director at Porto Itapoá, said: “The new 2,000 sq m warehouse for general cargo is strategically located in the port, which makes the unloading of the container and its return to the shipowner more practical and faster.
