Transnet SOC Limited (Transnet) has created a shortlist of respondents for private sector participation in its upgrade programme for Durban Pier 2 and Ngqura Container Terminals (DCT2 and NCT).
The intention is to create a 25-year special purpose vehicle (SPV) between Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) and the winning bidders, and therefore, no disposal or sale of the asset, where after 25 years the terminals would fully revert fully to TPT.
Among the ten shortlisted companies for DCT2 are COSCO Shipping Ports, DP World, APM Terminals (APMT) AMI Management DMCEST, International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) and Global Ports Services Pty. Ltd.
