Construction of the second container terminal at the Port of Abidjan has entered into its final stage having received six ship-to-shore (STS) cranes and seven rubber-tyred gantries (RTGs).
Manufactured by ZPMC, the new equipment arrived at Côte d’Ivoire Terminal on August 18 and will be used to start the operational testing stage before the planned commission in November 2022.
Hien Yacouba Sié, managing director of the autonomous Port of Abidjan, said: “The arrival of this handling equipment represents a major step in finalising the construction of the second container terminal at the Port of Abidjan.
