P&O and Unifeeder to “micro” feeder containers across the Red Sea

P&O Maritime Logistics and Unifeeder are partnering to establish a new route for “micro” feedering across the Red Sea between the Port of Jeddah and Port Sudan.

Using modified multi carrying vessels (MCVs), which can carry container cargo, the service will aim to bypass congestion by calling smaller berths, turning around at least twice faster compared to larger vessels on this shortsea route.

The shallow draught MCVs utilise less space and can access areas of the port where larger ships cannot fit due to their size and length.
