Hapag-Lloyd has entered into an agreement to acquire 49% in the Spinelli Group, a leading Italian logistics group, from existing shareholders, with the Spinelli family continuing to hold 51%.
The parties have agreed to not disclose any financial details of the deal, with the completion of the transaction being subject to the approval of the responsible antitrust authorities which is expected within the next few months.
Operating in Italy since 1963, Spinelli Group offers services throughout the entire logistics chain of containers to the shipping lines including port terminal services, multimodal transport solutions, container depots and repairs, warehouses, and customs agent activities.
