Port Houston handled 382,842 teu in August, a 20% increase compared to the same period last year and exceeding the port’s previous container handling record set in May 2022 by 47,476 teu.
In total, Port Houston has handled just over 2.6m teu year-to-date, representing a 17% increase compared to last year the port claimed has helped it to outpace other major US container ports.
