The Port of Cork has officially launched the Cork Container Terminal (CCT), which marks the biggest investment in marine infrastructure in the port’s history at €89m (US$86m).
Situated at Ringaskiddy in Cork Harbour, CCT spans 39 ha, offers 360 m in length and has a draught of 13 m which enables it to handle much larger container vessels.
The container terminal is equipped with two Liebherr 50 m post-Panamax ship-to-shore (STS) container gantry cranes which were delivered to the port earlier this year.
