Timor Port begins officially operating as the first deepwater port of Tibar Bay

Timor Port has officially started its activities at Tibar Bay with the arrival of the vessels Seletan Damai and Meratus Permatangsiantar, owned by Mariana Express Lines (MELL) and Meratus respectively.

Representing Timor-Leste’s first public-private partnership, it has taken four years to transform the greenfield site into Timor Port.

Laurent Palayer, managing director of Timor Port, said: “We are proud of the completion of this project, which we have been working on for several years.
