Port of Rotterdam maps out scenarios it will face in 2050
The Port of Rotterdam Authority has developed four future scenarios to envision the challenges the port will face in 2050.
Notably, all scenarios feature container volumes growing until 2035, the share of general cargo in throughput rising and liquid bulk volumes decreasing.
It is hoped that the future possibilities will help to guide investments to attract new freight flows, business and green energy.
