Ports face more disruption from strike action as the cost of living crisis worsens, with dock workers seeking to make up for soaring inflation, according to the latest analysis from Drewry.
Strike action at key German and UK ports has already caused serious disruption to carrier schedules and adversely impacted port performance with average call durations rising.
In response to dock worker strikes at main German seaports this summer and at the UK’s largest container port Felixstowe in August and September, carriers diverted vessels from the impacted terminals.
