The Port of Dover has begun operating with two Liebherr mobile harbour cranes (MHC) which perate on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oils (HVO) – a UK first.
By utilising HVO 100, made of 100% renewable raw materials, the Liebherr LHM 550 and LHM 280 are able to operate without releasing additional carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Karen Hayes, general manager at Port of Dover Cargo, said: “Since our new terminal in the Western Docks opened just over a year and a half ago, our business has flourished.
