Maersk and the Spanish government have signed a general protocol for collaboration to explore the opportunities for large-scale green fuels production in Spain.
The collaboration, if implemented in full, could deliver up to 2m tonnes of green fuels per year, while aiming to explore the feasibility on how to cover the full value chain from renewable energy sources to bunkering of vessels.
Soren Skou, CEO of Maersk, said: “We are living in a climate emergency, and we need to rapidly accelerate the availability of green future fuels.
