Data from FourKites shows that US West Coast ports accounted for 38% of import shipments compared to 62% for the East Coast as of October 2022.
In August last year, the split was 48:52 between the West Coast and the East Coast.
Glenn Koepke, general manager network coloration of FourKites, said: “As strikes and port congestion have plagued West Coast ports like LA, Long Beach, and Oakland over the past year, many shippers have started to favor ports along the US East Coast.”
